DAVENPORT, IA – June 2020 –Gilda’s Club is hosting a FREE workshop titled “Ovarian Cancer Experience Registry and Sisterly Advice” on Thursday, September 17, 2020 from 6 – 8 PM at Gilda’s Club Quad Cities (1234 E River Drive, Davenport).

Jodie Kavensky, founder and CEO of NormaLeah Ovarian Cancer Initiative will facilitate the Sisterly Advice portion of the evening.

According to Kavensky, “Sisterly Advice is a dynamic discussion about genetic inheritance and its relationship to gynecologic and other cancers, especially breast. Attendees are empowered to understand the importance of family cancer history and learn how to be mindfully aware of their own bodies. Participants assess their personal risks, understand ovarian cancer symptoms, explore risk reduction strategies and are encouraged to ask questions about their family history and health insurance coverage.”

Ovarian Cancer Experience Registry Enrollment
Every person impacted by cancer has a unique story and experience to share. The Cancer Experience Registry is a place where the individual and the collective voices of patients, survivors and caregivers can be heard.

According to the Cancer Support Community’s website, “The Cancer Experience Registry is a unique online community that allows people facing cancer to share their experience, identify the issues that impact their lives, take surveys, access resources and learn from each other.”

During this workshop we will discuss:

  • How the Registry allows ovarian cancer patients and loved ones to share their voices and to identify issues that impact their lives
  • The opportunity to enroll and join over 14,000 other patients, survivors and caregivers already using the registry

Dinner included. Registration is required. Anyone impacted by ovarian cancer is welcome to attend. For more details and to register, please call Gilda’s Club at 563-326-7504, email gc@gildasclubqc.org or RSVP online at https://www.gildasclubqc.org/calendar.
