Gilda’s Club Quad Cities launches Expanding Hope Capital Campaign. Proceeds from the campaign will ensure Gilda’s Club will be there to support and serve its members – on both sides of the river – for many years to come.
Gilda’s Club is thrilled to have speaker, Mrs. Margaret McCaffery, former college athlete and wife of Iowa Hawkeyes Men’s Basketball Team Coach, Fran McCaffery attend a fundraising luncheon on August 30th at the Rendezvous in Muscatine from 11:30a to 1p. She will speak on her own journey having had a teen with cancer and the value of a strong support system to help you through challenging times.
Colon cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths, however if caught early, your chance of survival is 90% after five years. Early detection is the best prevention. Come checkout all the workshop times available to you: Click Here.
Thanks to grant support from the Iowa Cancer Consortium, UnityPoint Health and Gilda’s Club Quad Cities, community members can receive a free at-home stool-based FIT test.
Are you at a fork in the road in your cancer treatment? Just starting treatment and choosing between treatments or thinking of changing treatments? An Open to Options session may be able to help! Sit down with a licensed mental health professional and get on paper your situation, options, goals, and leave with a printout of questions for your doctor. Open to Options can help with anxiety and make you feel more prepared to make your treatment decision.
Get an appointment by calling 563-326-7504 or signing up for an Open to Options session at gildasclub.org/calendar.
